The Bachelor with Honours in Business Studies course equips students with a rich breadth of knowledge in business and management and grows their managerial expertise by learning how organisations are structured and gaining insight into what makes them function best. The course is designed specifically for students planning a career in the management profession and/or the wider public/private sector.
This course provides students with an essential understanding of the functions and structures of organisations and is designed to offer a broad grounding in the subjects of Business and Management and include the history of management, management practice, organizational behaviour, decision-making for business, change and business innovation. This course will grow your managerial expertise and put foundations in place to ensure you continue developing through your professional life. You’ll also learn how organisations are structured, and gain into what makes them function best.
The programme aims to equip the students with the skills to build a strong knowledge base and master the skills and competencies to form a foundation from which managerial expertise can be developed throughout their working life. We focus on developing understanding of the internal functions and structures of organizations. We will instil various elements for running a business and the management of an organization. The programme uses research work aimed at utilizing the skills acquired and mapping it in real business world environment. We will develop your teamwork and communication skills through group work activities within a very supportive environment. In addition to developing appropriate skills and knowledge for wider understanding of the world of business and management in the workplace
Awarding Body
After the successful completion of the programme requirements, the students will be awarded with the certificates from the University of Stirling (UoS).

Programme entry requirements
- Year 1 Entry: Pass in the Secondary School with pass of 60% result in either the English placement test or Muscat College Foundation Programme.
- Year 3 Entry: HND (in a related subject only) with minimum B’s in all the Graded Units. A Graded Unit which has been upgraded to a B will be acceptable.
Accreditation of prior learning
Applicants may be considered through the accreditation of prior learning, which may be certificated or experiential. The admissions and registration staff are responsible for determining the grounds on which accreditation is acceptable. All applications are subject to approval of the Ministry of Higher Education. College Requirement Course
All the students are required to study a College requirement course “Entrepreneurship – Creativity and Innovation course” for 3 Credit Hours during the second year of their academic programme, apart from the programme requirements.
