 About the Programme

The Bachelor with Honours in Accountancy and Business Studies course is designed specifically for students planning a career in the Accountancy profession and/or the wider financial sector. The programme will be enable students to understand the world of accounting and finance, and to apply and convey there knowledge in a professional manner.

Programme Structure  is designed to provide students with a broad grounding in the subjects of Accountants, Finance and Business studies. Analytical techniques that underpin business activity and management are also introduced. Modules will also be undertaken by students from Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management.

Programme Objectives

This Unique program aims to equip the students with the following skills

  • Develops understanding of accountancy practices, commerce, industry and finance.
  • Build a strong knowledge base and master the skills and competencies to form a foundation from which managerial expertise can develop throughout their working life.
  • Numerical and quantitative skills; Problem-solving and analytical ability
  • Develops understanding of the internal functions and structures of organizations.
  • Research work aimed at utilizing the skills acquired and mapping it in real business world environment.
  • Develop teamwork and communication skills through group work activities within a very supportive environment.
  • Development of appropriate skills and knowledge and the students understanding of the world of business coupled with the added advantage of accounting knowledge.

College Requirement Course

All the students are required to study a College requirement course “Entrepreneurship – Creativity and Innovation course” for 3 Credit Hours during the second year of their academic programme, apart from the programme requirements.

Admission requirements

Year 1 Entry: Pass in the Secondary School with 60% in the Muscat College Foundation Programme.

Year 3 Entry: HND (in a related subject only) with minimum B’s in all the Graded Units. A Graded Unit which has been upgraded to a B will be acceptable

Awarding Body:

After the successful completion of the program requirements, the students will be awarded with the certificates from the University of Stirling.
