Muscat College is a private higher education in Oman offering various university degree programs in full affiliation with international universities.  The college is seeking to fill the following vacant positions:   


Director of Training - Reference (1614)

          With marketing background

          Job Purpose:

Training director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing a wide range of training activities; steering the activities of the Training Unit and ensuring the efficient utilization of all training recourses.

Main duties:

•         Definition of training requirements - internal and customer personnel

•         Definition of training dates, coordinate with Global Training

•         Customer consulting and designing  training courses to customer needs

•         Execution of trainings

•         Evaluation of training success

•         Develop a comprehensive training strategy and operational plan, including time line and budget responsibilities.

•         Verify that the training staff has obtained and maintained their technical and instructional knowledge and skills

•         Track training commitments to outside organizations such government or private sectors, and assist College management in meeting       these commitments

•         Develop training program and trainee status reports for College management.

•         Work to establish mutual trust and cooperation between the training unit and  all College departments

•         Develop training policies that establish guidelines for all training functions

•         Assist College management in identifying potential training needs based on facility and industry operating experiences.


Marketing Responsibilities: Marketing and Public Relations Department serves as the face of the college, coordinating and producing all materials and utilizing the available media techniques to represent the programs and facilities. It plays virtual role to reach out the potential students, investors and the community, and create an image that represents the college in a positive light


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:



  1. Field-related Bachelor degree/Master/ PhD.
  2. It is preferable that the candidates have more than3years of related experience




•         A reasonable Training experience or strong ability of developing trainer competencies

•         Ability to match up training programs target group orientated

•         Experience in marketing training




Deputy Director for Finance - Reference (1714)


The Finance Department is in charge of managing the financial transactions of the college. In particular, responsibilities mainly include collection of fees from the students and Ministry, communication with banks on financial related matters, managing the college budgetary controls, managing the operational cost, preparing financial sheets, preparing financial projections, conducting annual audits, preparing required reports, other duties and tasks assigned by the management.


Main responsibilities  :

*   Contribute pro-actively on all issues relate to Finance department decisions and the College at large. 

*   Supporting, coaching and motivating the Finance  team to ensure quality and timely deliverables.

*   Ensuring presence of adequate internal control procedures for financial accounting and compliance with the established policies and procedures.

          *   Identify the department new risks as they arise and update the Risk Register in coordination with Finance Director

         *   Approve monthly bank reconciliation

         *   Approve monthly AR and AP reconciliation with GL

         *   Approve related parties reconciliation

         *   Approve weekly Oracle Events log reports

         *   Approve new  account codes and new suppliers log report

         *  Approve monthly Payable exceptional report

          *  Approve monthly AR Collection reports

          *  Accurate, timely and consistent reporting to owner.  Half yearly accounts to be prepared and sent to Lenders in compliance with credit agreement.

         *  Ensure accurate and up to date controls and accounting system and records are maintained.

         *   Prepare quarterly pre-reading for Dean

          *  Prepare quarterly pre-reading for owner

           *  Provide financial analysis and performance reporting on the Company’s investment.

 *   Manage the external Audit process and ensure the financial statements completed accurately and speedily and are presented to Shareholders and Audit Committees for approval of owner on time.

           *   Ensure audit all requirements are met smoothly, timely and accurately

           *   Monitoring and ensuring College’s assets are properly accounted in compliance with the international accounting standards and used in accordance with management authorization.

           *   Maintain effective, efficient and well controlled processing of invoices and payments.

           *    Work closely with other departments to ensure that issues on payments are promptly resolved.

           *    Ensure sufficient controls are maintained around AP and I-Expense processes.

           *    Encourage team members to be vigilant on any suspected transactions

           *    Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and  ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and produce management reports and financial statements  compliance with IFRS, tax law, companies commercial law, etc.

           *    Liaison with Tax inspectors and ensure the Tax assessment is achieved smoothly.

           *   Review annual tax returns to Tax authorities in line with the Tax Law.

           *  Ensure that quarterly contractors and sub-contractors report is prepared and submitted to Tax Authority on time

           *   Monitor and ensure financial system is all the time robust, stable and reliable

           *   Review new business requirements/application enhancement/strengthening controls and endorse for implementation when required.


Minimum Qualifications

  1. Field-related Master/Bachelor degree {Finance/Accounting).
  2. It is preferable that the candidates have more than 2 years of related experience


Admission and Registration Clerk - Reference (1814)

The Admissions and Registration Department (A&RD) is in charge of all students’ academic affairs: admissions, records, registration, enrolment, updating and maintaining of records, and graduation requirements of students in conjunction with the values, goals, regulations and admissions policies of Muscat College. Staff at the A&RD is responsible for ensuring that the integrity of professional liaison is upheld with all stakeholders (students, parents, sponsors and society) by disseminating the appropriate information about the College and academic programmes.

The main tasks for Admission and Registration clerk:


  1. Contribute in the process of developing the department.
  2. Participate in reply to queries.
  3. Follow-up cases in which the candidate had sat for the Placement Test.
  4. Participate in the process of filling.
  5. Responsible for checking and verifying all documents for new candidates.
  6. Follow-up and review requests and letter requests submitted by students.
  7. Follow-up and issue graduation notification for graduated students.


Minimum Qualifications

  1. Field-related Bachelor/Diploma degree (IT, Management…etc).
  2. It is preferable that the candidates have some related experience or training.
  3. Candidates with a good computing skill will be preferable.





Assistant Professor / Lecturer (Finance):   Reference no:(1414)


Muscat College seeks to recruit full time faculty members in Finance and Accounting specializations. The successful candidate should hold a PhD degree in Finance/Accounting discipline from an internationally recognized university with minimum 3 years of teaching experience.


The candidate should be able to teach Finance and Accounting modules for undergraduate and potential graduate level programs. In addition to the teaching responsibilities, advisory and administration roles are to be performed. It is expected that the candidate offers the value additions to the college and assists in the development of the programs. Research publications in peer reviewed journals would be an added advantage.


1.    The Finance candidate should have demonstrated experience in teaching Financial Management, Investment Management, Risk Management and SAPM courses.

2.    Accounting specialization candidate should have experience in supervising dissertation and teaching courses such as Auditing, Advanced Financial Accounting, Advanced Management Accounting, Computer based accounting (SAGE) and Taxation.

IT Specialist : Reference no. (1314)

  Main duties

1.    Administer servers, routers, switches, firewalls. Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
2.    Should be able to Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network related problems in labs and Staff rooms.
3.    Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems.
4.    Knowledge on Windows desktop deployment, Wireless network and security technologies.
5.    Should be able to Install, configure, upgrade and maintain computers, printers, photocopiers etc.
6.    Assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving.
7.    Should assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.
8.    Should assist in supporting Audio Visual equipment in the College.
9.    Should have Web Programming knowledge.
10.    Should act as a support resource for students and Staff.

Qualification and Experience:

1. Minimum Qualification of Bachelor Degree in Computer Support / Networking.
2. Minimum Experience of Two years in the similar role.
