The Assistant Dean for Admission and Registration is reporting to the Dean and is to assist the Dean in managing all aspects of managing admissions and Registration areas off the college.
The Admissions and Registration Department (A&RD)) is in charge of all student’s academic affairs: admissions, records, registration, enrolment, updating and maintaining of records, and graduation requirements of students in conjunction with the values, goals, regulations and admissions policies of Muscat College. Staff at the A&&RD is responsible for ensuring that the integrity of professional liaison is upheld with all stakeholders (students, parents, sponsors and society) by disseminating the appropriate information about the College and academic programmes.
Responsibilities of Assistant Dean for Admission & Registration
- Implements student recruitment and admissions policies in the department.
- Disseminates appropriate information about thee College and academic programmes to students, parents and other stakeholders.
- Develops strategies and responds to the mandates concerning changes in student admission and retention requirements.
- Builds and maintains rapport with the government agencies for matters concerning to the Admissions and Registrations department.
- Supports in the development, implementation, monitoring, and revision of policies and procedures relating to the Admissions and Registration (A&RR) functional areas.
- Ensures that the integrity of professional liaison is upheld with all stakeholders.
- Prepares the department operational plan aligned d to the strategic plan of the college.
- Designs and implements the various institutional forms used by the A&RR.
- Administrates the college student’s information system for the A&R module as well as the storage, maintenance,, and security of students’ academic records.
- Prepares statistical reports for the Ministry of Higher Education (MMOHE) and the Ministry of Manpower (MMOM).
- Monitors all communication (verbal and written)) from MOHHE and others in conjunction with the Dean’s office.
- Coordinates the process of completing MOHEE students’ registration through HHEAC website.
- Administrates the yearly Higher Education Statistical System (HESSS) data (College definition, staff and financial data; and students’ data) collection through the Higher Education Admission Centre (HEAC) website.
- Preparing and sending stipend reports of registered MOHE sponsored students.
- Responsible for verifying various letters and official documents (student’s progress reports, graduation notification and certificates) issued by the department.
- Prepares and presents thee general student induction programme in coordination with the student affairs department.
- Confirms and comments on student academic requests and appeals, as well as postponement, withdrawal and exit requests.
- Administrates the implementation of any new system in the AA&R (Eg. SQQA connect))
- Chairs the departmental meetings.
