The accounting part of this programme aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to equip them for a career in all areas of accounting and a wide range of careers in business and finance. It does this by developing students’ competence and practical skills in accounting while providing the relevant knowledge and understanding of accounting as it relates to the wider business context.
The course would normally be undertaken on a 4 year full time basis. For the award of a Diploma, a minimum of 240 credits must be achieved. For the award of an Advanced Diploma degree, a minimum of 360 credits must be achieved. For the award of a Bachelor with Honours degree, a minimum of 480 credits must be achieved.
Graduates will have knowledge of both Accounting and Computing Science. They will be ideally placed to work either in the software industry itself or finance-related organisations, as well as a range of other private and public sector bodies ranging from consulting firms to IT users such as government, banks, insurance and industry.
