Aims:
The accounting part of this programme provides students with the knowledge and skills to equip them for a career in all areas of accounting and a wide range of careers in business and finance. It does this by developing students' competence and practical skills in accounting while providing the relevant knowledge and understanding of accounting as it relates to the wider business context. This combined course provides candidates the required skills for preparation of financial statements, analysing business operations and applying generic quantitative models to a range of management accounting applications
The computing part of the programme is learning how computers work, and programming them to make them do what we want. It is also important to consider how computer systems fit into their environment; therefore students also study how people communicate with computers and how computers communicate with each other. Hence it deals with computer systems and programming and provides students with the knowledge and skills of data communication. |

Career Opportunities:
Graduates with Accountancy & Computing Science could be placed in organizations where accounting packages are used for accounting and audit. They may also work in government organizations, banking, insurance and trading companies where the major focus would be accounting but with the support of suitable software packages. They will also be ideally placed to work either in the software industry or in a more strategic role, developing the use of IT in business and finance.
